David Northcott Bursary Application

The David Northcott Education Bursary provides financial support to youth ages 18-29 in Manitoba who are pursuing post-secondary education or a community initiative. This bursary is awarded for up to $5,000 annually and aims to support applicants committed to addressing poverty, advancing social justice and strengthening communities through their studies, research and future careers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: 18 – 29 years old
  • Income level: Applicants must demonstrate financial need or come from an under resourced community.
  • Geographical location: The province of Manitoba
  • Are either:
    A) pursuing post-secondary studies leading to an undergraduate degree, certificate, or diploma in a program of studies with a focus on addressing poverty, advancing social justice and/ or strengthening communities.
    B) Seeking funds for a community initiative, or project that addresses issues or improves the community. Research, educational tools and other resources will be considered.
  • Display active involvement in their community through volunteering, mentoring or other types of engagement.
